🪕 A Personal Note: My Family Ties to Tennessee & Opry Country

As we celebrate 100 years of the Grand Ole Opry, I can’t help but reflect on my Copeland and Cody Family Side, which trace back to Algood and Cookville, Tennessee — a small town nestled just over an hour from Nashville. Growing up, I always heard stories about the strong southern values, music-filled front porches, and community gatherings that shaped our family heritage in that region.

That same spirit — humble, musical, and deeply rooted in tradition — is exactly what the Grand Ole Opry stands for.

Though I grew up far from the spotlight of the Ryman stage on the other side of the country, knowing that my family lived just down the road from the heart of country music has always made the Opry feel personal. Whether it was gospel harmonies, country fiddles, or family barbecues filled with song, music has always been a part of our family’s story — just like it is for the Opry.

So this 100th celebration? It’s more than a show.
It’s part of my family legacy — and our collective American story.
