Article and Google Review

El Caballero Country Club delivered an incredible week of golf, community, and unforgettable moments during the JM Eagle LA Championship.
From sunrise tee times to late-day finishes, this tournament had everything that makes professional golf special—talent, class, pressure, and personality.
First off, congratulations to champion Hannah Green on an outstanding performance. Winning on a course like El Cab takes focus, discipline, and composure, and she absolutely earned it.
One of the biggest highlights for me was meeting the President of El Caballero Country Club. Truly one of the most genuine and welcoming people I’ve come across in all my years working tournaments. You can tell right away when someone genuinely cares about the game, the players, and the overall experience.
I also had a fun, unexpected moment meeting a couple of gentlemen involved in a kids show—you’ll spot them in the photos (white captain’s hat and red suspenders). Great energy, and it sounds like golf may be reaching younger audiences in new ways. That’s exactly what the game needs.
Inside and Outside the Ropes Moments
Even without Nelly Korda this week—always one of my favorites to walk with—the field still brought serious talent and personality.
Ingrid Lindblad – Calm, focused, and incredibly genuine. Watching her recover from deep rough near a bunker reminded me why elite players stand out. I've walked with her before and she really cool and calm.
Lottie Woad – One of my favorite players to walk for. Respectful, composed, and consistent every step of the way. Thank for always be amazing.
Hye Jin Choi – I’ve walked with her multiple times, but this week felt different. Though I didn't walk with her I happen to see her in a group ahead of me. She gave A big smile and wave on the tee box. Small moments that mean to me after grinding many tournaments. Means they appreciated your hard work and I remember you.
Rose Zhang – First time walking with her. Calm presence, strong game, and clear star power.
Hye joo Kim - walked with her and she was excellent—steady, talented, focused, and strong the entire round.
Yuri Yoshida – Smooth, steady, and quietly dangerous.
Isi Gabsa – Strong presence and great energy.
Melanie Green - Walked with this rookie twice this weekend, and over the past few tournaments she has truly stood out to me along with two other young players I’ve had the chance to walk with. Legit talent, rookie confidence, and serious future upside. She carries herself with poise, stays composed under pressure, and looks like someone whose game will only keep rising with experience. You can see the work ethic, focus, and belief in every round. Those are the signs of a player with a bright future. Thanks for allowing me to be able to walk for you.
Jessica Porvasnik – Rookie who's future has huge potential. Paired with Melanie and showed real promising future for a rookie. She even gave me a signed rookie ball. Great gesture. Thank your autograph golf ball and her caddies I've walk with several times and he really nice friendly guy.
Both rookies worked hard and kicked butt to stay high on the leaderboard.
Anna Nordqvist – Easily one of the nicest players I’ve met. Respectful, grounded, and a total veteran. Thank you for sign golf ball.
Mimi Rhodes – Rookie to watch. Hard work and she never gives up.
Pauline Roussin-Bouchard – Firecracker personality and game. When she’s on, she’s electric. Love walking for her always. She had off day and all feel so bad for the player when they work so hard to then it tanks. I even crushed to help heart to see live.
Laetitia Beck – I have a lot of favorite I enjoy walking with from top players to rookies, This player stands out due to great personality. One of my personal favorites. Rare type of player who recognizes people, says hello, and takes a real moment to connect. When I was off shift and taking photos of players and areas, she took the time walk over and have a real nice conversation and be personable like if we were old friends. That rare.
One of the Best Groups I Walked This weekend do to exciting finally to make the cut was:
C. Choi, Alison Lee, and Ilhee Lee
This group had one of the most intense finishes I’ve seen in the last 4 tournaments of the groups I walked for... Huge gallery, family support almost the entire walk, and clutch golf near the cut line knocking out cut line from negative-1 then making negative-2. Pressure golf at its best. They work hard every hole to stay in the game.
C. Choi walked with her and she was excellent—steady, talented, focused, and strong the entire round.
Random Moments That Make It Special
I rode the shuttle with former Los Angeles District Attorney Craig Road during his first LPGA event. We swapped stories and even had separate Clint Eastwood connections. Small world moments like that hit different.
I also met a caddie who was a player’s husband—pure support role, great conversation, and clearly knew both golf games well. That’s the heart side of golf people don’t always see.
I had a really cool moment meeting some of the gentlemen helping promote a kids golf show during the week—you’ll see them in the photo, one wearing the captain’s hat and the other in the red suspenders. Both were incredibly friendly, full of energy, and great with people. From what I found, this appears connected to the Junior Golf Show, which was featured during tournament week and included LPGA pros with hosts Karol Priscilla and Bradford Wilson. It’s a smart move by the LPGA to help introduce the game to younger audiences in a fun, modern way. Golf needs more of that fresh energy, personality, and kid-friendly excitement to help grow the next generation of players and fans. Great meeting them and seeing that side of the game in person.
Fill-in standard bearer moment: I sprinted over 300 yards to catch a group after thinking I’d only be doing marshal crowd control. Full hustle mode. Not sure if media caught it—but the coyote running around stealing microphones definitely stole the spotlight 🐺
The Grind Is Real
I worked:
2 double shifts Thursday
2 double shifts Friday
1 shift Saturday + marshal + fill-in
Close to 50 miles walked this week, and over 200+ miles helping LPGA events over time on the West Coast.
I'll talk about the things I watch when I see the players beating themselves up or having a good day, having a bad day, how I feel bad for them, and how it applies to life.
That’s serious mileage.
And yes… I had a uniform malfunction 😂 Forgot my extra khaki shorts that day and became the black sheep in different colors.
I asked a Golf Channel cameraman if it mattered, and he laughed:
“He Said -This cameras don’t care what color shorts you wear. We just prefer uniform khaki.”
We all laughed. Exactly.
Performance Over Everything
Golf teaches discipline, humility, patience, and how small moments become lasting memories. That’s what this week at El Caballero Country Club felt like.
Real Stories. Real Places. Real People.
