Behind the Chaos: Steel Panther Live at Grand Sierra – A GonnaHappen Recap

There’s something about a Steel Panther show that makes you feel like you’re diving headfirst into a chaotic, glam-fueled time machine—where stripper poles meet screaming guitar solos and the rock n’ roll gods raise a cold one to the madness.

And this week in Reno... it all went down.

So little did the boys in Steel Panther know, but one of GonnaHappen’s longtime friends and publicists—Raquel Figlo (raquelfiglo.com)—happens to know Riot Stitch, the edgy fashion brand that’s collabed with Michael Starr himself. In true last-minute GonnaHappen style, we tossed out a grassroots push for the show, shared with Raquel, Riot, and a few other rock insiders like Jimbo, Cher, and Sean McKeena. The plan? Light up Reno and take you all with us—camera gear in hand.

The scene:

Grand Sierra Resort & Casino

Crowd buzzing. Stripper poles waiting. And an opener straight outta Vegas featuring Mary the bassist, repping Reno hard. They hit the stage like they were riding a flaming Viking hog—getting that crowd loose and rowdy like we were already two Jack shots in.

As the lights dropped and the stagehands swapped gear with vengeance, the Panther stage setup came alive: poles, lights, and attitude. The crowd knew what was about to hit them. And then… BOOOOOOOOOM.

Steel Panther took the stage. 

They stormed every inch of it—bringing the sleaze, the swagger, and the satire. From fast-living groupie tales to wild solos, it was classic Steel Panther. Michael even gave my camera the finger (that’s a memory I’ll frame). I got shots of the madness—stripper poles, band antics, and crowd chaos. This is what rock shows are made of.

And then came the surprise of the night—They Pulled a Girl from the Crowed. From the crowd to the stage, she got pulled into the action. Everyone thought she was just a die-hard rock chick, but turns out Jenna’s in the industry, and they gave her the full backstage treatment—song, pass, and spotlight. That’s how legends are made in real time.

As the set hit its climax, the boys brought 17 women up for one of the wildest crowd-on-stage moments I’ve seen in a while. Strippers doing things on those poles I haven’t seen since the Sunset Strip’s golden years. Then came the infamous "Glory Hole" bit—hats were flying, crowd was roaring, Styx (the drummer) caught Michael’s hat midair, and just like that... it was over.

For those who don’t know me outside the blog—this isn’t new territory. I’ve been in the mix for years. I’ve walked through the doors of exclusive Playboy Mansion parties, rolled VIP with Brian Olea from Playboy – Now called - Rogue Bunnies Mayham Podcast, and rubbed shoulders with Rogue Bunnies, the powerhouse community celebrating past Playboy models and modern icons.

I’ve also connected with Ted Maier, a top-tier talent agent Avalon Artist who once ran a management company representing Playboy models and reality stars. Now he deals with kids and his life has adjust to support the passion of the youth…

Being surrounded by beautiful women, industry talent, and bold personalities has always been a part of the GonnaHappen energy. Whether it’s backstage at a glam-metal concert or poolside at a private estate in Beverly Hills, I’m in those rooms because I belong there—and I bring the story back to you.

So yeah, hot women and stripper poles don’t throw me off—they remind me I’m right where I’m supposed to be.

But the stories? Oh, they live on because we know there’s more to this story that can’t be written in this article.

Steel Panther ain’t just a show. It’s a reminder of what real rock energy feels like. I used to watch them when they were playing tiny clubs. Now they own big stages, and the stealer rock vibe! Still raw, still wild, still very GonnaHappen.
